Pros:  Compact size, great for travel, works with my existing USB Cables
Cons:  None

My friend just got a BlackBerry Torch and I noticed this is the new charging pod that BB is including with their phones. Since Im still rocking a Tour I decided to check CrackBerry to see if they sold these and when I saw they did, immediately had to pick one up. Love it!

StarStarStarStarStar Great Little Charger
User: Brian J, Jun 8, 2011

Pros:  Energy Star
Cons:  -

I purchased this charger to charge an iPod touch and it works great. The charger also works with my Blackberry and my Zune HD. The design of the charger is inspired by unibody design electronics, as the back (with prongs sticking out) and the sides are all one single piece of shiny plastic. The matte front piece is the other piece of plastic in this design. This makes the charger feel very solid. Also the design is really nice. In my opinion, it is the best looking design for a charger on the market. Unfortunately, Blackberry chose not to include a plastic cap to cover the prongs to prevent damage.

According to Blackberrys website, this charger is Energy Star compliant. However, I would always recommend removing the charger from the wall outlet when not in use. The charger remains relatively cool when compared to the old, folding blade style Blackberry charger. One minor complaint is that after an hour or so of charging, the charger sometimes emits a high pitch noise. However, you can only hear it when near the charger. I suspect that this may be present in most other chargers.

Pros:
-Solid Feel
-Great Looking Charger
- USB Charging allows this charger to work with Blackberry, Zune, iPod, ect. (provided that you have the USB Cable)
- Energy Star
- Great Price
- Much less heat than previous charger (folding blade)

Cons:
-Slight high pitch noise emitted after an hour or so of charging
- No plastic cover included to protect the prongs
StarStarStarStarStar high pitch noise
User: Stan Morehouse, Sep 23, 2010
sure it works and it serves a dual use. However, the noise emanating from this charger is very bothersome.
I keep it in my office which is not that quiet of a place and the noise is very irritating.
I will replace it with another type. Maybe yours doesn’t make this noise. I’d be interested to know if others have
The same problem.
StarStarStarStarStar This charger makes noise when using it on 220V
User: Miguel Ferreira, Jul 4, 2011

Pros:  Compact
Cons:  May not be good for Europe

I didnt notice in Canada but when I plugged in this charger into my plug converter (not a transformer), it made a buzzing sound and got very hot. I of course unplugged it and stopped using it. Must find another way to charge my Torch while in Germany. This charger came with my Torch so it is not 3rd party. I checked the rating and it is good for 50Hz and 60Hz as well as from 100V all the way up to high 200V
StarStarStarStarStar Gets hot & makes high pitched noise
User: Espi B, Mar 7, 2011
Took this to Europe and started to make a high pitched sound and get VERY hot. Had to stop charging for fear of it melting or worse - a fire!
I checked and it is dual voltage. Got it replaced by at&t by one of their generic ones - not as nice and twice the size :(
Wish Blackberry did something about this - I like the size but its not worth the risk.
